Simplot genetically engineered potato gets USDA nod for deregulation

The U.S. Department of Agriculture’s (USDA) Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service (APHIS) announced that as of Sept. 2, 2015, publication of the Federal Register notice announcing the decision, a genetically engineered (GE) potato variety developed by J.R. Simplot Company (Simplot) engineered for late blight resistance, low-acrylamide potential, reduced black spot bruising, and lowered reducing sugars will be non-regulated.


AGCO announces AgCommand API will open to third-party developers

AGCO Corporation announced that its AgCommand API (Application Programming Interface) is now open to approved third-party developers and service providers of farming applications, such as management dashboards and mobile apps. This new capability will enable AGCO customers to access their machine data through their other farm and fleet management tools.


Eurofins AgroScience Services moving and expanding

Eurofins AgroScience Services (EAS), which has been an exhibitor at the National Alliance of Independent Crop Consultants convention for several years and works with global crop protection companies, announced it is relocating its U.S. Pesticide Residue Laboratory operation from East Brunswick, N.J. to Lancaster, Penn.

The new facility will be at full operational mode as of Sept. 8, according to the company.
