TFI testifies before Senate Commerce Committee on rail issues

The Fertilizer Institute's (TFI) President Chris Jahn testified before the Senate Committee on Commerce, Science and Transportation on the challenges and importance of transporting fertilizer by rail. 

The full committee hearing entitled, "Freight Rail Transportation: Enhancing Safety, Efficiency, and Commerce" looked at challenges facing our nation's freight rail network created by higher demand, pending and proposed rules and regulations, and infrastructure needs.

Commentary: Items Monsanto and Chipotle can agree upon

Sometimes, wisdom shows up in unexpected places. The other day I saw a Chipotle bag featuring part of an essay by Harvard Professor Steven Pinker. In "A Two Minute Case for Optimism," Pinker says that despite all the awful news headlines we see every day, the numbers actually tell a different story: worldwide, he points out, violence is down, infant mortality is down, more people live longer, more children attend school and so on.
