Julie Borlaug, associate director for external relations, Norman Borlaug Institute for International Agriculture, explained how March 25 is her grandfather’s birthday and the time to honor him by launching new actions to explain genetic modification of crops and innovative technology in agriculture. The goal is to achieve real acceptance of science-based solutions and motivate the nation’s next generation of urban population to accept GMO technology and ag science advancements. She was the keynote speaker at Bayer CropScience’s recent Ninth Annual Ag Issues Forum held prior to Commodity Classic.
