With more than $250 million already dedicated to research, the Florida citrus industry continues to eagerly learn from ongoing experiments. Every other year, an international conference focused on HLB is hosted in Florida. The fifth International Research Conference on Huanglongbing took place in March. The conference had more than 400 attendees.
As a follow-up to the researcher conference, a grower day will take place on April 21 to transfer knowledge to the field level.
“As an industry, we are constantly searching for new techniques and management practices to turn around yields,” says Andrew Meadows, communications director for Florida Citrus Mutual. “We are building the toolbox. We haven’t found the silver bullet yet.”
