Every year, the Agricultural Retailers Association’s Political Action Committee (ARAPAC) hosts special events at the annual conference and expo to raise money to fund the association’s political support of congressional elections. The money raised is used toward helping re-elect members of Congress who support ag retailers and distributors’ issues.

Attendees Show Support for ARAPACAt this year’s conference, ARA held a golf tournament, live and online auction and dinner to raise money for ARAPAC. The live auction and dinner were held at the Addison of Boca Raton restaurant. Guests were treated to an auction that featured a wide array of donated items. Some of the auctioned items included an original painting from artist Jeff Williams, a “Take Me Out to the Ballgame Package,” a weekend fishing package, Nolan Ryan tender-aged steaks along with an autographed baseball and cap, a VIP tour of Washington, D.C. a John Deere Gator XUV 825i and multiple gift certificates among other items. A completely separate list of items was auctioned online.

This year’s online auction event featured the return of Purple Wave Auction, who conducted the online bidding. Bids could be placed via the internet using a computer or mobile phone or by visiting Purple Wave Auction’s booth. This is the second year ARA has partnered with Purple Wave Auction to offer an alternative to the bidding process. Auction items at Purple Wave Auction became available for bidding in November, giving members plenty of time to bid and review the products.

More than 125 participants took part in the ARAPAC Golf Tournament. See winners below. The course played dates back to the times when PGA professional Sam Snead and Tommy Armour held positions on staff. The resort immaculately maintains the 71-par course that plays 6,253 yards long. It includes 12 carries over water.

ARA thanks all who participated this year in any or all of the events!
